Shape fitting game, free in your browser
A shape fitting game gives you a shape and an outline and asks one thing: make them the same. Perfect Match Game is a free one you can play right now, with 10 shapes, a 3-minute clock and a new run every day.
What a shape fitting puzzle is
Unlike a jigsaw, where the pieces are fixed and only their places are unknown, a shape fitting puzzle makes you control the piece itself: where it sits, which way it points and how big it is. Three numbers, all of them continuous. There is no "snap into place" until you have found all three, so the puzzle is about precision rather than deduction. Children's shape sorters are the simplest version. This one has four-figure precision.
Why it is harder than it looks
Position is easy: you can see where the outline is. Rotation and size are the trap, because an error in either one looks like an error in position. A shape that is a degree off will overlap on one side and fall short on the other, and the instinct is to slide it, which fixes one side and breaks the other. The only way through is to notice which kind of error you are looking at, which is a skill that builds over a few runs.
How Perfect Match scores the fit
The game measures the exact overlap between the shape and its outline on every frame and shows it as a percentage. The last one percent is where the game lives: the meter stretches 99 to 99.99 across most of its width, and the points for banking a shape climb with every extra nine. A perfect fit is worth the most and refunds a little time. Ten shapes against one clock turn that precision into a decision: bank what you have, or spend seconds chasing the snap.
Play it on a phone
Touch controls were built for precision rather than speed. Drag with one finger, use the two rulers to rotate and resize, tap a ruler's edge for a single step, and let the lens show you the corner that is still off while your fingers are on the glass. The how to play page has all the controls.
Same puzzle for everyone
The daily run is identical for every player in the world, with a leaderboard and streaks, and any run can be shared as a link that lets a friend race your score shape by shape. See today's daily run, or start a crew with your group chat and keep a board of your own.
